We returned to training following our Christmas break ready for the year ahead.
FEBRUARY

Sensei Dylan and Sensei Gemma were reselected onto the KUGB England Squad for their eleventh and ninth years respectively.
​
Students from the club attended the KUGB Northern Region Course with Sensei Jimmy Brennan and Sensei Frank Brennan.
​
Sensei Dylan and Sensei Gemma represented England in the Grand Slam, where Gemma won Kata and placed third in Kumite, and Dylan placed third in Kata.
​
James Bowart achieved his KUGB Silver Young Leaders award.
​
We hosted a special course at the club with Sensei John James Bruce, 5th Dan, which was very well attended.

We hosted our first club competition which was a fantastic event for our club members to gain competition experience.

Kanushanth Balachandran passed this Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt grading in Scotland), becoming the first black belt in the club in many years.
APRIL

We hosted our first grading of the year with Sensei Garry Harford, 8th Dan.
​
Sensei Dylan and Sensei Gemma attended the KUGB Spring Course in Torbay.
​
We drew our Easter Raffle which raised £160 for the club.
​
Sensei Dylan passed his 4th Dan grading in Grantham with Sensei Billy Higgins, Sensei Jimmy Brennan and Sensei Frank Brennan.
